Nepal financial authorities: cryptocurrency trading and mining are not legal

The country’s central bank has reminded people of the Himalayan nation that mining, as well as trading digital assets, are prohibited within the country.

The financial authorities also warned that participation in such activities would result in fines in accordance with current regulations. But it is important to note that citizens continue investing in BTC as well as in other altcoins.

Trading and mining cryptocurrency is punishable because it is illegal in the country, the Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) noted in a recently published notification titled “Cryptocurrency Transactions Are Illegal.”

They believe that trading and mining virtual coins and encouraging illegal activity is punishable under applicable laws.
