Iran’s government is developing new legislation to reportedly triple the current penalties and jail time for a repeated offence. This is not the first time the Iranian authorities have tightened mining regulations due to energy shortages in recent years.
Iranian Power Generation, Distribution, and Transmission organization revealed that the country is planning to immensely boost fines for miners who utilize subsidized energy on Saturday. As stated by Bohlouli, fines will rise anywhere from three times the current amount up to five times the current amount. Repeated violations will lead to jail time.
