Social media profiles devoted to digital assets were blocked on Weibo. It is a Chinese website that works like Twitter. It is an intensified call from Chinese authorities to crack down on digital assets.
The service has blocked about 25 accounts with a large number of subscribers. They were owned by renowned crypto traders and leaders in the Decentralized Finance (DeFi) industry.
Over the weekend, access to several popular cryptocurrency profiles was denied, with a message saying they violate laws and rules.
Among them were the accounts of the cryptocurrency news portals Blockbeats and 8BTC.
