Last Tuesday, a vote took place where the majority voted not to go through with the ban on bitcoin mining. Only the left-leaning parties supported the ban within the vote.

Analysts say that with the loss of this vote, left-leaning political figures will most likely forward the idea of boosting power taxes for miners alone as it’s their only way of tampering with the mining process now.

In actuality, bitcoin mining has been on the rise in popularity in Norway with the help of renewable energy.

Norwegian political parties have been trying to ban mining for a while now, mostly with the use of the power tax.
