The financial authorities from the Gyeonggi provincial government in South Korea implemented a massive crackdown on tax evaders who choose digital assets to hide their funds. According to the Financial Times, over $47 mln worth of BTC, ETH and other online coins were seized from 12,000 investors who allegedly were involved in tax evasion, including a TV host, a doctor and thousands of investors from South Korea.
This measure is just one of many of the operations integrated by other provinces in the last few months against evaders who rely on digital assets to avoid domestic taxes.
