SEC accused a quantitative analyst of an $8.5 mln fraudulent scheme

The American Securities and Exchange Commission informed the media that it charged Sergei Polevikov. He was a quantitative analyst at two popular organizations for committing a long-lasting fraudulent plan that brought an illegal money flow of approximately $8.5 mln.

As stated in the SEC’s claim, sent to the court, starting from Jan 2014 and up to Oct 2019, the accused analyst used personal data about the amount and plans of his hirers’ securities orders and trades. He utilized this data in his own trades and used his hirers’ trades in advance.
